Airport arrivals:

Take a shuttle or cab to the Upham Hotel. The grant pays for this.

Drivers:    I suggest you get the map to the Upham hotel from their web site. Take the Arrellaga turnoff from the freeway (coming from the South). The cross streets are Sola and De LaVina. Please be available to transport those without cars to and from UCSB.

Spouses or partners:

I have planned a dinner for us at the Beachside Restaurant for Thursday evening. Please let me know if you have a partner who will attend so I can reserve for an adequate number.

Wednesday evening, for those who have arrived.

6:30PM                 Meet informally for dinner someplace on State Street.

Thursday, August 5 morning schedule:

7:00AM                Buffet breakfast at the Upham for those staying at the Upham

 

8:30AM                Meet in Upham lobby for transit to UCSB. I am counting on those who have cars to provide transport to UCSB.

•• Go North on the 101 freeway (it’s really West, but the freeway signs call it North) to Ward Memorial Rd (about 8 miles from the Upham), a well-marked freeway turnoff to UCSB. Prepaid parking stickers will be available at the East gate Kiosk to the campus (the one you will end up at from Ward Memorial). Ask the attendant for instructions to lot 6 or 10, and a instructions to the Physical Science South building. Parking lot Map.

9:00 AM              Workshop begins at Physical Science Building South, room 2712. This building is adjacent to Broida Hall, the Physics Building. Get a map at the campus entry kiosk.
